Charlotte Clean and Green: An Earth Day Celebration will be held on the Central Campus of Central Piedmont Community College and along Elizabeth Avenue (which will be closed to traffic) that runs through the campus.
Central Piedmont Community College has been serving students and citizens of the greater Charlotte region for over 40 years. The College is a nationally recognized leader in workforce development serving over 70,000 students each year helping them to improve skills, explore new careers, and achieve degrees or certification. CPCC's Center for Sustainability, housed under the Futures Institute has been established to provide education and training for professionals and the public to increase awareness of environmental sustainability.
We love pets, but, CPCC policy prohibits pets on Campus. This means that dogs, cats, gekkos, guppies – leashed, caged or otherwise – will be safer and happier at home. Please do not plan to leave any animals in parked cars or tied nearby, since this is also unsafe and illegal.
Also, please note that as of January 2, 2010, CPCC is 100% tobacco free.
The map below describes the major areas of the CPCC Central Campus that will be used for the event.
Charlotte Clean and Green will have Exhibitors and Vendors along the length of Elizabeth Ave. (which will be closed to traffic), as well as Free Green Seminars in the Levine Information Technology Building and the Health Careers Building. Information booths will be at both ends of Elizabeth Ave. The Goodwill e-Recycling program will be located at 1515 Elizabeth Ave., with the drop‐off entrance in the 200 block of N. Torrence St.
CPCC's Sensoria event will be located on the Central Campus' main quad.
The Neighborhood Symposium will take place in the Overcash Building.

Don't be a drip – fix that leak! Leaky faucets can waste thousands of gallons of water each year, like money down the drain. Repair or replace old or damaged fixtures. If you're not sure you have a leak, check the water meter before and after a two–hour period when no water is being used. If the meter does not read exactly the same, you probably have a leak.
